Mentorship
UBC TO’s 1st ALUMNI MENTORSHIP
It’s been a successful first year for the UBC-TO Mentorship program! Running from April to June of 2011, the program engaged young alumni with more experienced industry experts. Young alumni were given an opportunity to develop a variety of skills to succeed as leaders in the workplace and community.
Overall, the mentors and mentees were happy about their experiences. Here is what some of them have to say:
- “I’m having great fun with my mentee. We’re still a bit in the “get to know you phase” and I appreciate that he has been very good of working with my calendar. We’ve talked by phone, had a dinner, and were trading text messages the other day across 10 time zones. The next few months are likely to be very hectic for both of us- but I think we’re doing fine. Hope he feels the same way.”
- “The mentorship is going well so far. My mentor has been quite helpful.
